The Detroit Rock City

I realize that this is not the best picture of the D. But it is worth noting that the bright sunset makes the city seem like a much happier place! - and it gives an idea of the magnitude of my view from the hotel, which is at General Motors. Detroit has done right by me thus far, and sometime soon I plan on riding the People Mover to Greektown. Until then, an update on the reading situation. Between Friday and today I finished Running…

The Maize

These pictures are a sum-up of a quintessential fall day, spent in four stages:a) kickball tournament (i got a single)b) cornfield maze (i’ve achieved a life-long dream)c) scouring the city for apple cider (we know it’s in that box!) and a fall favorite, tough-guy (excuse me, dirty) chaid) one bottle of wine + political debate = eating granola on the subway on the way to a house party in clarendon Me, Kelly, and Jenny at a Cornfield Maze and Pumpkin Patch in Maryland, on a…

Running With Scissors

Really cool multimedia site built for the upcoming film Running with Scissors. I love the design, interactivity, and use of text, video, and photos. It’s kooky, like the story. I was interested in this movie…

I decided to try something new (I usually go with Nutri-Grain Muffin Bars, Banana Nut- delish), and I picked out Smart Start Healthy Heart Bars, in Strawberry Vanilla. DO NOT GO THERE. This morning, I innocently took a bite at my desk. On first bite, I was a bit disgusted, as I don’t like overly sweet things. My criteria for a delicious breakfast bar: -moist, but not sticky-yummy-doesn’t…

The Air Smells Like Chocolate

HERSHEY,PA- In Hershey the air really does smell like chocolate, especially around the Hershey Lodge. I’m skeptical that the smell actually comes from the chocolate factory. I think it might come from smell-emitters around the hotel itself. But they are really strong, delicious emitters that make you think about your mama and her chocolate chip cookies. Yum. Some pictures from the Hershey Gardens, which are beautiful. Fall is the best and most beautiful and good-smelling season, reminding us all of starting school, football games, and…
